The Pendant Collection

The Delphic Oracle is an ongoing, online work of conceptual art that combines poetry, prophesy, fine art, mathematics, and fun.

Inspired by the famous temple and sanctuary at Delphi, these one-of-a-kind miniature mosaics have been set into a cast sterling silver pendant.

Each one represents both the all-seeing eye of the god Apollo, and a fragment of his oracular answer as uttered by the Pythia -- a life-long high priestess who acted as his medium.

Random Authentication

It is always free to ask a question and receive an answer. Each answer is accompanied by a randomized image of one of the hand-made pendants from the collection.

This adds an authentic, real-world layer of meaning to the answers as they are uttered. Should you happen to own a pendant, you will always benefit from the possibility that your answer will be accompanied by the image of your personal pendant. Naturally, how you interpret this development is entirely up to you.

There is currently a 1 in 28 chance that pendant owners will find their answer authenticated. Pendants are photographed twice in order to showcase variances in the colour of some tiles.
